Energy Resources
Energy Resources- renewable and non-renewable. Where do you begin your research?
Did you know that our online encyclopedias would lead you to not only articles on different topics, but also some of the best websites on your topic? Did you know that they would provide you with magazine articles, pictures, illustrations, graphs, and videos?
Online Encyclopedias- Try one of these three online encyclopedias to search your topic, and then find the links to websites, media (illustrations, pictures, etc.), and magazine articles.
INFOhio has a database that is science based. It has an image gallery, and some of the articles will give you pictures along with the information. You could try your topic in the following database:
Facts on File Science Online
Spectrum Patron's CAT- Genoa Area High School's card catalog will also return websites, as well as books. It is available from any computer in the library computer lab. The icon reads "Spectrum Patron's CAT". You could search renewable energy sources (set as keyword). That is how I found the following sites:

Search Engines
You should try one of the above resources first, but if you did not find all of the information that you need, and you want to try one of your favorite search engines...then you need to give some thought to how you want to search for the information. Want to find out the advantages and disadvantages of a particular energy resource? Then make sure that you put those key words in the search strand.
For example, if I were going to search using Google for information on the advantages and disadvantages (or pros and cons) of different energy resources, I would include the following in my search window:
energy resources and advantages and disadvantages (or try the "Advanced Search" button)
You will get much better information using that strategy! That is how I found the following websites:
